Graduation!!!

Graduation day is finally here!!! I must tell you that these past 5 months have seemed like 5 years!!! When Ed was hired on with Salt Lake, he knew that he would have to repeat the Police Academy. I don't think that he realized how difficult that would be... ya know going back to being the "new guy" or "toby" as they call it. This day has been a long time coming. I am so very proud of him for going through all of this so that our family will have better opportunities in the future!! I am very excited for what is in store for his career at SLCPD. On Monday we had a dinner with Chief Burbank and he let us ask any question of him that we had. I was very much impressed with him and his attitude about the police dept. It truly has been a refreshing change from before... and that is all I will say. Congrats to Ed and all of the hard work!!!! You're done!!!!

Movie Night!

Movie night at our house is a lot of fun! The girls get into jammies and bring pillows, blankets and their favorite stuffed animals. They come in and snuggle up with Mom or Dad (mainly Dad because they have missed him all day long) and we all watch a movie! My girls love to watch Veggie Tales movies and right now the favorite is Moe and The Big Exit. Maybe Santa will bring another Veggie Tales movie to watch so that Dad can see some new material. Tonight, as my girls and my sweet husband lay on our bed for movie night, I got a little sentimental. Maybe it was the funeral of the fallen officer from North Salt Lake that Ed attended today, or just hormones, but I got to thinking that these are the times that I really need to cherish. Life is too precious to let slip away. I feel like if I blink, these monents will pass me by. I know that it is so cliche to say, but tonight, I truly believe, that it is little things in life that are what we really do need to keep in our hearts!

A Change Is In The Air!!

So, after months of debating weather or not I should do something drastic with my hair... I decided to go for it!!! I was either going to cut it very short or make a dramatic color change..... Here is the final result. It has taken my a couple of days to get used to my reflection in the mirror, but I really like it!!

Snow... Finally!!!

The leaves are not even gone, yet it is time for snow!

Finally snow!! For the past 2 months, my girls have been so excited for the snow to come. They have pulled out all of the gloves, hats, snow boots, etc., to "practice" getting ready for the first snow fall of the season. Snow= Christmas in their little minds. So this morning when they woke up, they looked out the window and screamed, "SNOW!!!!" Emma didn 't even want to wait to get dressed, so I let her put some pants on under her nightgown and go outside on the deck to play in the snow.

They played and ate snow for quite awhile, and Quincey comes in and says, "Mom, I think that it is time for you to make me some hot chocolate! It is really cold out there!" I made my sweet girls some hot chocolate and we all sat around the table talking about how excited we are the Christmas is just around the corner! It has been so much fun lately with my daughters because they are so full of new ideas and great conversation!

Happy Halloween!!

The kids ready to go Trick-Or-Treating!
Quincey: A Fairy Princess
Emma: A Scary Monster(Frankenstein)
Korbyn: A Dragon
Tia: Hannah Montana

Halloween was a lot of fun this year because my girls wanted more say in what they were going to be this year.
Emma insisted on being a "scary monster, so I can scare that dog!!!" I borrowed a costume from my sister-in-law that her little boy wore 2 years ago. JJ did get called a boy a couple of times, but all in all she looked like the cutest scary monster out there! She ran around "scaring" all the bigger kids and had some great laughs doing so!

JJ and her Jack-O-Lantern:

Emma J had a total blast carving the pumpkins! She kept carving long after her eyes, nose, mouth were all cut out!! Quincey, on the other hand, thought that carving Jack-O-Lantern's was way too messy. She hated taking out the seed on the inside and washed her hands about 5 times throughout the process!!!

Pumkin Patch

We all went to a Pumpkin Patch down in Santaquin. We went on a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. All the way to the farm, Quincey was upset because she did not really want to sit ON the hay. Hay, in her opinion, was too "prickly" and stuck in your pants! When we arrived, she was pleased to see the we would only be sitting on a bench that the tractor pulled and not the actual hay! The girls were able to pick out their own pumpkins, but I think that all Emma J wanted to do was run around and roll the pumpkins down the hill!!! We had a great time!
